James McAvoy has revealed how gaming addiction was affecting his work as an actor, Activision has assigned 8 of its 10 core studios to Call of Duty development, and Aloy will be coming to Genshin Impact 2.2.

James McAvoy Gaming Addiction

James McAvoy, the actor that you might have seen in Xmen and other TV shows, has revealed that he had a very serious gaming addiction. It got to a point where he would be up late at night playing video games, and it started to interfere with his work. He found himself struggling to learn lines and would end up exhausted during shoots. However, McAvoy was able to overcome his addiction by taking a drastic step - he melted the disc of his favorite game, Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

It's interesting to note that despite his past struggles with gaming addiction, McAvoy recently appeared as a voice actor in the game Twelve Minutes, which was released just a few days ago. This demonstrates a more positive approach to gaming, as he is now using his passion for gaming in a productive way. For many of us who have dealt with video game addiction, it's commendable to see someone turn their experience into a positive one. It's my hope that more mainstream and Hollywood actors will venture into the gaming industry, as their involvement can only lead to even better games.

Activision Call of Duty

In other gaming news, Activision is currently dedicating the majority of its resources to the development of the next Call of Duty game. Eight out of the company's ten core studios are currently working on either the upcoming Call of Duty title or on Warzone, the popular battle royale mode within the franchise. This clearly signifies that Call of Duty is currently Activision's top priority.

As mentioned in a previous article, the initial trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty game left much to be desired in terms of excitement and innovation. However, it's important to acknowledge that Call of Duty has an enormous player base, and there are undoubtedly many individuals eagerly anticipating the release of the next installment. With so many studios involved and a significant investment in the game's development, there is hope that this concentrated effort will result in a higher quality game.

Aloy in Genshin Impact

Lastly, an exciting crossover between two popular games has been announced. Aloy, the main protagonist from Horizon Zero Dawn, will be making an appearance in Genshin Impact. This collaboration will occur in Patch 2.2 of Genshin Impact, with Aloy becoming available on PlayStation platforms starting October 13, 2021. Players on other platforms will have to wait until November 24, 2021, to experience playing as Aloy in the game.

As a fan of both Genshin Impact and Horizon Zero Dawn, I find this collaboration intriguing. It's likely the beginning of many more collaborations between different game studios and Genshin Impact. Similar partnerships have been witnessed in games like Fortnite over the years. It will be fascinating to see how this crossover is executed and how Aloy's presence enhances the gameplay experience in Genshin Impact.

For those interested, a trailer has already been released showcasing Aloy's appearance and potentially her unique abilities within the game. I encourage you to check it out if you're curious to see how this crossover unfolds.

In conclusion, we have discussed James McAvoy's past gaming addiction and his recent involvement in the gaming industry. We have also explored Activision's dedication to the Call of Duty franchise and the anticipation surrounding the next game. Lastly, we touched upon the exciting collaboration between Genshin Impact and Horizon Zero Dawn, bringing Aloy into the world of Genshin Impact.
