Introduction

Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of the daily gaming news. Here I'll be discussing all the latest goings-on in the gaming industry, from new releases to game announcements and everything in between. So without further ado, let's get started!

South of the Circle

11-bit Studios is going to bring South of the Circle to consoles and PC. Originally it was developed for mobile phone only, but 11-bit Studios does have experience making games such as This War of Mine and Frostpunk which is of the same style. Hopefully, the port to console and PC will go well.

Kojima Productions Independent Studio

And the next bit of news for today is Hideo Kojima shared an image showing Death Stranding being part of PlayStation Studios. However, just ten minutes later he tweeted out saying "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but Kojima Productions has been and will continue to be an independent studio." Even though companies can work closely with PlayStation, it doesn't mean that they are potentially or necessarily owned by PlayStation. And PlayStation actually own the intellectual property of Death Stranding. That's probably as a result of Hideo Kojima needing financing in order to get Kojima Productions off the ground. We will see in the future what this means. If he will still stay as an independent studio or if eventually he'll just become part of PlayStation Studios officially.

Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion

The last bit of news for today is CD Projekt Red tweeted out saying "As it was mentioned in the CD Projekt Red financial call moments ago, Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming expansion will arrive in 2023. Please stay tuned for more details coming this year." And they spoke about how the majority of fixes for Cyberpunk 2077 are now complete and they are working now to expand the game. They also announced that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 18 million copies and The Witcher 3 has sold 40 million copies, but the game is still going strong. Despite its incredibly rocky start, but hopefully good things will happen for it in the future.
