Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of the daily gaming news. Here I'll be discussing all the latest goings-on in the gaming industry, from new releases to game announcements and everything in between. So without further ado, let's get started!
Sea of Stars Delayed
The upcoming turnbased RPG Sea of Stars has been delayed with the developer releasing a statement that says "A word from the team. As we are closing in on a very big milestone, the road to launch becomes clearer and we find ourselves here with a large body of text and our logos at the bottom. Keeping in mind our two main priorities, quality of life for our team and quality of the finished game, we can now confirm that Sea of Stars will be released in 2023. We understand waiting is a big ask and want to sincerely thank our community for the overwhelming support and positive vibes. In the meantime, we are looking at options to get a playable slice out to everyone this year." It's good that they are focusing on the welfare of their developers rather than forcing crunch, which some developers are known for. Hopefully it'll launch well and I'm looking forward to checking it out.
Fallout Modders Offered Jobs
And the next bit of news for today is Modders behind Fallout London, which is a DLC size mod for Fallout 4 have actually been offered jobs at Bethesda and in some cases have taken them. The Lead Tech Advisor for the project is now going to be working as an Associate Level Designer at Bethesda. Another member of the team was also offered a job at Bethesda to work on Fallout 76, which he declined. It's nice to see when Modders get recognized for the quality of work they do and then get offered official positions in a company. It's not the first time it's happened and hopefully it won't be the last.
Sucker Punch Productions Projects
The last bit of news for today is Sucker Punch Productions, who is one of the PlayStation Studios known for recently launching Ghost of Tsushima, have posted on their blog saying "As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studios currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and dear to our hearts and while we never say never to reopening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development." And that was to answer rumors that have been going around about games in development from Sucker Punch. Personally, I'm a big fan of the inFAMOUS series. I hope they do revisit it at some point.
