A trailer for The Witcher 4 was released. The trailer depicts an older Ciri, as the main protagonist of the game, she has also taken on the form of a Witcher. It has raised a lot of questions, however, for people dedicated to the lore of the books, the reasons why is because women are not known to become Witchers because generally they can't survive the Trial of the Grasses. Also, by the end of The Witcher 3, Ciri had mastered the Elder Blood, which gave her very strong powers, which would have made her more powerful than any Witcher. Deviating from the source material is potentially what led to Henry Cavill leaving the TV show as well. CD Projekt Red also reprimanded the voice actor of Geralt for saying a couple of months ago that he will be in The Witcher 4, but he will not be the main protagonist.
