Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Stripped Of A GOTY Award

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has had one of its Game of the Year awards stripped away by the Indie Game Awards 2025. The reason why is because of its use of Generative AI. Apparently, the AI assets that were used in Clair Obscur have since been patched out and removed, but the Indie Game Awards took exception and action against the game, because Sandfall Interactive declared that no AI was used in the creation of the game. It released a statement to explain that they have a very hard stance against that. Either way, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 won the most awards ever at The Game Awards 2025.
