At Mithrie - Gaming News, our mission is to provide accurate, engaging, and honest coverage of the video game industry. We hold ourselves to high journalistic standards to ensure our readers can trust the content we produce.

1. Accuracy & Fact-Checking

We strive to verify all news before publication. Our writers are required to:

• Trace stories back to primary sources (official announcements, developer posts, or direct interviews) whenever possible.
• Clearly distinguish between confirmed facts, rumors, and speculation.
• Verify leaked information with multiple independent sources before reporting it as credible.

2. Corrections Policy

We acknowledge that errors can happen. When they do, we are committed to fixing them transparently.

• Minor Errors: Typos or grammatical errors that do not change the meaning of the story will be fixed immediately without notice.
• Factual Errors: If a factual error is corrected, we will add a "Correction" note at the bottom of the article explaining what was changed and when.
• Retractions: If a story is proven fundamentally false, we will retract it with a prominent notice explaining the error.

3. Review Policy & Scoring System

Our game reviews are based on the reviewer's personal experience with the title. While opinions are subjective, we strive for consistency.

How We Score

We do not currently use a numerical score on all content, but when we do, our scale is as follows:

• 10 - Masterpiece: A genre-defining title essential for any gamer.
• 8-9 - Excellent: A fantastic game with minor flaws that don't spoil the fun.
• 6-7 - Good: Enjoyable but may have technical issues or repetitive gameplay.
• 4-5 - Average: Functional but uninspired; likely only for die-hard fans of the genre.
• 1-3 - Poor/Broken: Significant technical failures or fundamental design flaws.

Review Copies

We occasionally receive free review codes (keys) from publishers or developers. This never guarantees a positive review. We disclose the receipt of a free key in the review itself. If we purchased the game ourselves, we will also state that.

4. Ethics & Conflicts of Interest

• Independence: Our editorial content is not dictated by advertisers or affiliate partners.
• Embargoes: We respect official review embargoes to maintain professional relationships with publishers, provided they do not restrict our ability to be honest.
• Affiliates: As detailed in our Affiliate Disclosure, we may earn commissions from links. This funding supports the site but does not influence our review scores.

5. AI Content Policy

We value human creativity. While we may use AI tools for spell-checking, idea generation, or code assistance, all final articles and reviews are written, edited, and fact-checked by human journalists.
