FFXIV Gold Saucer Unlock Guide
Your first step into the world of Triple Triad, Chocobo Racing, and massive rewards.The Manderville Gold Saucer is FFXIV's premiere amusement park, offering mini-games, lotteries, and unique collectibles like the Fenrir mount. Unlocking it is a quick process that can be started as early as Level 15.
Initial Unlock Quest
- Quest: "It Could Happen to You" [00:00:24]
- Location: Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:9.6, Y:9.0) [00:00:15]
- NPC: Well-heeled Youth
- Requirement: Complete one of the Level 15 Main Scenario quests: "The Envoy" (Gridania, Limsa, or Ul'dah).
The Introductory Tour
After taking the airship from Ul'dah to the Gold Saucer [00:02:45], you must complete a guided tour before you can access all attractions [00:06:47]:
- Main Counter: Speak with the Receptionist to learn the basics of MGP [00:07:39].
- Card Square: Meet the Triple Triad Trader to see the card tables [00:10:37].
- Wonder Square: Speak with the Gatekeeper to learn about GATEs (Gold Saucer Active Time Events) [00:13:05].
- Event Square: Find Validette to learn about the Jumbo Cactpot [00:15:34].
- Round Square: Visit the final stop to see Mount Corel [00:17:22].
Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP)
Getting Started: You can exchange Gil for your first 500 MGP at the main counter [00:12:18]. The exchange rate is 10 Gil for 1 MGP [00:05:50]. Note that you can only buy MGP this way if you currently possess less than 500 MGP [00:05:58].
MGP is the unique currency used for all prizes in the park. It cannot be converted back into Gil, but it can be used to buy items, mounts, and cards [00:06:04].
