Minions are adorable, non-combat pets that follow you throughout your adventures. While many are purchased with Gil or MGP, the rarest are hidden behind achievements, high-end raids, and the Lord of Verminion minigame.
Early Game Essentials: Coeurl Kitten & Wolf Pup
Two of the most iconic early-game minions are the Coeurl Kitten and the Wolf Pup. Both are obtained via a level 15 questline in Western La Noscea.

Common Collection Methods
- Gold Saucer: Exchange MGP at the Prize Claim counter for pets like the Heavy Hatchling or Mama Automaton.
- Grand Companies: High-ranking officers can purchase Materiel Containers (3.0/4.0) for a chance at rare gacha-style minion drops.
- Achievements: Check your log (Y) under "Items." Collecting cards or completing 50 player-vs-player matches (Lord of Verminion) awards rare pets like Shalloweye.
- Treasure Maps: High-level maps (like Timeworn Br'aaxskin) have a chance to drop exclusive minions like the Golden Beaver.
Minion Behaviors & Emotes
Pro Tip: Use the
/beckon emote on "Obedient" type minions to have them sit on your shoulder or head!
- Mammeteer Title: Equipping this title makes clockwork minions react to emotes like
/pokeor/handover, which they normally ignore. - Unique Idles: The Fat Cat will occasionally roll over, while the Wind-up Sun's height can be adjusted by poking it.
- Social Interactions: Bringing a Wolf Pup and Coeurl Kitten together will cause them to "play-fight" automatically [00:14:05].
Lord of Verminion (LoVM)
This RTS-style minigame in the Gold Saucer uses your minions as units. It is the primary way to earn the Clockwork Twintania and the Penguin Prince.
- Unlock: Access the LoVM tables in the Minion Square of the Gold Saucer.
- Challenge: Complete all 24 NPC "Challenge" stages to unlock the "Challenge Accepted" achievement and your Twintania pet.
- Strategy: Poppet-type minions (like Mammets) deal extra damage to Arcana Stones, making them the best choice for speed-running matches.
