Bungie Copyright Explained, Overwatch 2 replaces Overwatch, Sonic Origins Released | Gaming News

Introduction

Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of the daily gaming news. Here I'll be discussing all the latest goings-on in the gaming industry, from new releases to game announcements and everything in between. So without further ado, let's get started!

Overwatch 2 replaces Overwatch

Overwatch 2 is going to be replacing the original game. According to a Reddit AMA which means "Ask Me Anything" with the developers from Blizzard, they have have confirmed that Overwatch 2 is in fact an upgrade for the first game. Even in the future after the launch of the game in October, you try and launch Overwatch 1, it will ask you to upgrade to Overwatch 2.

Bungie Copyright Explained

And the next bit of news for today is back in March 2022, I reported how Bungie had been received Copyright Takedown Notices against its own videos and Bungie have since investigated to find out who the source of the Copyright Takedown Notices was. Allegedly, it was a YouTuber who had his own Destiny OST videos taken down by Bungie. OST stands for Original Soundtrack. YouTubers often upload videos to YouTube of different games just to feature the music of the game. And it's definitely a contentious issue for most game developers. Allegedly the YouTuber retaliated by striking down Bungie's own videos. Bungie is now seeking $150,000 damages and injunctive relief for each of the works taken down totaling $7.65 million. Hopefully, we will see what happens from this lawsuit.

Sonic Origins Released

And the last bit of news for today is Sonic Origins has now been released, which will include remastered versions of Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles and Sonic CD. There are upgrades to the games including a widescreen mode and also Boss Rush and many other new features that have come in the game. Gameranx made a very good before you buy Sonic Origins video, which goes into more detail about the game. If you are a fan of the old Sonic games like I am, and you grew up with them, then it could be your chance to jump into it in a wide screen setting.

Conclusion
