Overwatch 2 will be releasing on the 04 Oct 2022. It will be a free upgrade to the first game and all the progression you have in the original Overwatch will transfer over to Overwatch 2. Overwatch 1 will cease to be available as soon as Overwatch 2 launches and there will be some extras that you can buy an Overwatch 2 if you so wish, but generally you can play it for free.
