Hideo Kojima has revealed that Metal Gear Solid 5 was actually supposed to be an episodic game with Ground Zero serving as the prologue. There was some confusion at the time understanding why the game was split like that. The end result being that Metal Gear Solid 5 was grouped into one game with every single level having credits like it was an episodic game, even though it wasn't.
