There's a lot of drama between Krafton and the developers of Subnautica 2. The reason why is because Krafton have fired the senior development team, including the CEO and two of the cofounders of the company (of Subnautica Dev), and potentially have forfeited a $250 million bonus because they delayed Subnautica 2 until next year. However, from that the Senior Staff who were fired are now suing Krafton, saying that the game is ready to go and would have qualified for the $250 million dollar bonus because it could have easily launched during 2025. There's definitely more details about the ongoing drama, but it appears to be getting bigger by the day. When there's an update about the lawsuit, I'll be sure to mention it on the Gaming News.
