The U.S. Patent Office is now questioning the patent that was granted to Nintendo in September. Recently Nintendo was granted a US patent to give them protection on the idea of summoning a character in a game. The concept has existed in games long before even Pokemon existed and has been used in countless other video games. Now the US Patent Office Director has ordered a re-examination of the patent.
