The engine of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has been confirmed. Back in 2024, the Director of the game, Naoki Hamaguchi, said in an interview with CGWorld that Square Enix was considering switching to Unreal Engine 5 for Part 3. However, in a recent interview with GameSpot, Hamaguchi confirmed that the game has been developed in Unreal Engine 4. Maybe future Final Fantasy's will be based on Unreal Engine 5.
