The PlayStation 5 Pro is receiving a software update. So far its AI based super sampling upscaler, which is nicknamed the PSSR has not been performing too well in certain games. A new updated version of the software will be coming out for free for PlayStation 5 Pro owners and it was recently tested by Digital Foundry. They have found that the upgraded version of the PSSR has fixed a lot of the issues that plagued the original version, though they've not been able to test yet the automatic PSSR, which will upgrade games which are not specifically patched for it. The PSSR 2 will be fully supported by Crimson Desert when it launches on 19 Mar 2026 and updates have also been confirmed for Assassin's Creed Shadows and Cyberpunk 2077.
