The next State of Play has been announced from PlayStation. It will feature more than 40 minutes of new gameplay for upcoming PlayStation 5 games. It's set to be broadcast on 04 Jun 2025 at 2 p.m. PT, which is 10 p.m. for us in the UK. What do you hope to see from the State Of Play? And the next bit of news for today is Unreal Engine 5.6 has been released. The version update includes optimizations to the engine which will make it operate between 20 to 90% faster, as well as adding optimizations to foliage. More games these days are using Unreal Engine 5, so it's nice to see some optimizations as well, with Epic saying it can now hit 60 fps even on the current hardware such as PlayStation 5. What feature do you like the most from Unreal Engine 5? And the last bit of news for today is a technical demo for The Witcher 4 was released. The technical demo is running on Unreal Engine 5.6 on a standard PlayStation 5 and apparently it's optimized to run at 60 fps with ray tracing on. They explain the different features in the demo, including enhanced horse mechanics, increased levels of details and performance for foliage, as well as the ability to have upwards of 200 to 300 NPCs on screen at the same time. As well, it should be noted that this is a technical demo and it's not indicative of the final product. When we know more details about The Witcher 4 including a future release date, I'll be sure to mention on it the Gaming News. Will you be playing The Witcher 4?
