Final Fantasy XIV will end Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025, aligning with Microsoft's own end-of-life date for the operating system. After this date, Square Enix will no longer provide official assistance for Windows 10-related issues, though the game is "likely" still to launch and run on unsupported systems. Players relying on older hardware—such as GPUs incompatible with Windows 11—are advised to upgrade their OS to maintain security patches and avoid potential compatibility headaches.
Ensure your PC meets the updated system requirements, upgrade to Windows 11 well before the October deadline, and consider enrolling in Microsoft's Extended Security Updates program if you need more time. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot let slip details of a new Ghost Recon game during the annual shareholder meeting in Paris, marking the first public acknowledgment of the project. Although no formal announcement has been made, Guillemot confirmed the franchise's return as part of the company's strategy to expand its first-person-shooter lineup, following an investment boost from Tencent for "future development of other major brand names".
What we know so far is sparse: this as-yet-unnamed Ghost Recon installment may adopt a first-person perspective and could leverage live-service elements similar to those in Rainbow Six Siege. While Breakpoint underperformed and the planned Frontline was cancelled, Ubisoft is doubling down on its tactical shooter roots. Krafton has formally responded to the lawsuit filed by the former senior leadership of Subnautica 2—Ted Gill, Charlie Cleveland, and Max McGuire—who claim they were promised a $250 million bonus contingent on meeting specific targets by the end of 2025. After delaying Subnautica 2 to 2026 and restructuring bonuses to just 10% for remaining staff, the founders walked away and sued, alleging deliberate obstruction to avoid the earn-out.
In its statement, Krafton emphasized that the delay was purely driven by quality concerns and expressed eagerness to defend its decisions in court. "While we are disappointed that Charlie, Max, and Ted have filed a lawsuit seeking a huge payout, we look forward to defending ourselves in court", said a spokesperson, reaffirming the studio's commitment to delivering the best possible sequel for Subnautica fans.
