There is renewed speculation that The Resident Evil 1 Remake is going to be remade. That's according to various industry leakers. Resident Evil 1 has celebrated its 30th anniversary and the game was already remade for the Game Cube, but the current style of remakes is set to continue after the successful launch of Resident Evil Requiem. Resident Evil Requiem sold more than 5 million copies since release. There's also speculation of a Code Veronica X Remake as well as Resident Evil 5. Apparently, the Resident Evil games are set to be released interwoven between remakes and main entries. If we get official word that Resident Evil 1 Remake is being remade, I'll be sure to mention it on the Gaming News. Which Resident Evil game would you like to see be remade? And the next bit of news for today is an overview trailer for Onimusha Way of the Sword was released. It was released during the Capcom Spotlight 2026, which showed off some gameplay of the action adventure game that's set during the 17th century Edo period Kyoto. Onimusha Way of the Sword is set to release during 2026, but they haven't officially announced a release date yet. When we know the release date, I'll be sure to mention it on the Gaming News. Have you played an Onimusha game before? And the last bit of news for today is IGN have released a detailed preview of the upcoming Control Resonant. They explained how the different zones of the game are clearly defined and it'll be a lot easier to navigate than the Old House from the first game. Also, they explained that the game is not a souls like, but instead it's an action game focused on melee combat. They showed off the talent tree and how it will have an impact on the game, but also confirmed that you won't be able to fully unlock the Talent Tree in one playthrough of the game. They also stated that the game will not have multiple endings. There isn't a release date yet for Control Resonant, but IGN is guessing that the game will be released a few months before GTA 6.
