Platform Specific Instructions

• Windows (Standalone): Download the setup file from the link above. This version is NOT compatible with the Steam version.
• Steam: If you buy the game on Steam, you must launch it through Steam. You cannot switch between Steam and Windows Standalone on the same account.
• PlayStation 4/5: Search for "Final Fantasy XIV" on the PlayStation Store. The base game includes the launcher.
• Xbox Series X|S: Download from the Microsoft Store. Requires Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate for full play (Free Trial does not require Game Pass).

Installation Troubleshooting

If you encounter errors during installation (e.g., "Unable to download patch files"), try the following:

1. Disable Antivirus: Temporarily disable real-time protection or add the FFXIV folder to exclusions.
2. Run as Administrator: Right-click the launcher and select "Run as Administrator".
3. DNS Settings: Change your DNS to Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) if the download stalls.
4. OneDrive: Ensure your "My Documents" folder is not being synced to OneDrive, as this can corrupt configuration files.
