Elden Ring on Steam

Elden Ring, the highly anticipated action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, has now made its appearance on the popular gaming platform, Steam. This news has created quite a buzz among gaming enthusiasts, as they now have the opportunity to wishlist the game and gather more information about its features and gameplay through screenshots and other available details. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the game is still set for release on January 20, 2022. Fans are eagerly anticipating this date, hoping that it won't be subject to any further delays.

Google Wanted to Buy Epic Games

In recent developments, it has been reported that Google expressed an interest in acquiring Epic Games, the creators of the immensely popular game, Fortnite. This news comes in the midst of an ongoing lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple. To provide some context, the lawsuit arose when Fortnite was removed from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store due to Epic Games attempting to bypass the payment systems on these platforms. As part of their defense, Epic Games claimed that Google was also interested in acquiring the company to eliminate any competition. Allegedly, Google intended to enforce its own payment system on the app, thereby gaining a stronger hold on the market. The outcome of this lawsuit remains uncertain, and it is difficult to determine the potential winners or losers. However, it is clear that the implications could have far-reaching consequences for the gaming industry as a whole.

Epic Games Store Free Game

Shifting gears, let's delve into the world of free games offered by the Epic Games Store. Epic Games announced their plan to offer another free game, Rebel Galaxy, starting from August 12, 2021. This free game will replace the current free title, A Plague Tale: Innocence. If you haven't redeemed the latter yet, there's still time to do so before it becomes unavailable. It's important to note that once you redeem a game on the Epic Games Store, it becomes permanently associated with your account. This means you'll have unlimited access to the game without any additional costs. However, you must actively redeem the game to ensure its inclusion in your library.

You might be wondering why Epic Games is so generous with their free game offerings. There are a couple of reasons behind this strategy. Firstly, by providing free games, Epic Games aims to attract more visitors to their platform. As a direct competitor to the dominant gaming platform, Steam, the Epic Games Store has been striving to increase its user base. Additionally, when a game is redeemed for free, Epic Games compensates the developers by purchasing the game at full price. This serves as both a tax write-off for Epic Games and a benefit for the developers, generating revenue for them.

In conclusion, the gaming industry is constantly evolving, with new games and exciting developments consistently emerging. Elden Ring's arrival on Steam has garnered significant attention, giving fans the opportunity to engage with the game even before its release. The news of Google's interest in acquiring Epic Games adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing legal battle between Epic Games and Apple. The outcome of this lawsuit could reshape the gaming landscape. Lastly, the Epic Games Store's practice of offering free games serves as a means of enticing more users onto their platform while supporting developers through their compensation model. Keep an eye out for further updates and announcements within the gaming industry as it continues to push boundaries and captivate players worldwide.
