505 Games Publisher Sale: Discounts Await Gamers - Video Page

Take Two Interactive, who is a parent company behind Rockstar, who created the Grand Theft Auto franchise are suing reverse-engineered versions of GTA III and Vice City. They are fan-based projects that have been in development for a while now and in February of this year they actually issued a DMCA takedown to try and get the source code off of GitHub because that's where the source code was being distributed. But they received a counter notification basically saying that from the developers that they're not using any of the code from Rockstar, therefore it's not Copyright infringement. Copyright infringement, in my belief, I'm not a lawyer goes to the actual design of the game, the characters in the game, the name not just the code used. We'll see how this plays out in court because when a counter notification is received, the next course of action by the publisher or the owner or Copyright owner is to take either legal action or to walk away. And in this situation Take Two have decided to take legal action. Simple as that. We'll see. The next bit of news for today is 505 Games are doing a publisher sale on Steam. 505 Games have published such games as Death Stranding PC or Control Ultimate Edition or Bloodstained (and more).
