Wario64 tweeted out saying "An Xbox achievement list for GoldenEye 007 has popped up." And the reason why this is leading to any sort of speculation or excitement is because because there's not been any news about any James Bond game or any remaster or remake of GoldenEye 007 for a while, but this is more evidence that maybe we're going to get something. We will see. Originally, GoldenEye 007 came out more than 25 years ago on the Nintendo 64, and while some regard it as one of the best shooters of all time, it has really not aged well. Since then it's been emulated, it's been modded. Some people have added keyboard and mouse support and so on. We will see if there's any sort of official remaster coming to Xbox anytime soon. The next bit of news for today is Square Enix. President Yosuke Matsuda sent out a letter where he basically explains what he hopes for Square Enix in 2022. Part of what he talked about includes "Another term that quickly gained currency in 2021 was NFT or nonfungible token. The advent of NFTs using blockchain technology significantly increased the liquidity of digital goods, enabling the trading of a variety of such goods at high prices and sparking conversations the world over. I see 2021 not only as Metaverse year one, but also NFT's year one, given it was a year in which NFTs were met with a great deal of enthusiasm by a rapidly expanding user base." Now I think this is contrary to countries outright banning NFTs in games like I reported recently. He goes on to further explain "I realize that some people who "played to have fun", who currently form the majority of players have voiced their reservations towards these new trends and understandably so. However, I believe that there will be a certain number of people whose motivation is to "play to contribute" by which I mean to help make the game more exciting." Now I personally believe that game companies should just focus on making games and they should make them better, higher quality, push the envelope further and reduce prices. This idea of inflating prices like the £70 Final Fantasy VII Remake or you earn as you play and stuff like that. I don't know if people want that. I personally don't want it. I don't know if this is the right direction personally, but we will see what happens over time. We have to just wait and see. But I think this is contrary to a lot of people's actual belief about NFTs. I don't know anyone who has said to me ever, that NFTs are a good idea. They make a lot of money from them, they welcome them in gaming and so on. I've never heard of that ever. And then this week's feature and shout out is going to go to DashieGames. Dashie originally used to make skits on YouTube. He's been doing YouTube for a really long time and he has also made a gaming channel and his gaming channel is hilarious. He rages playing every game he plays and he's especially known for his Mario Maker play through and series. He did a lot of episodes for Super Mario Maker 1, and now he's working on Super Mario Maker 2. His users create frustrating levels for him just so that he can rage to them and so on. If you not heard of Dashie, be sure to check him out on YouTube. He is hilarious. I've been watching him for years and he's highly recommended.
