Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of the daily gaming news. Here I'll be discussing all the latest goings-on in the gaming industry, from new releases to game announcements and everything in between. So without further ado, let's get started!
God of War PC Preload
God of War PC will be available for preload in a couple of hours after recording of this video and the official release date is on Friday. Be sure to check it out if you haven't already. I would highly recommend God of War. It's such a good game. It was one of the best on PlayStation 4 and it has also been patched for PlayStation 5. But with PC, you'll be able to ramp it up to really high settings and hopefully it will be a good port. We have to wait and see.
PUBG Free to Play
The next bit of news for today is PUBG has gone free to play, so you'll no longer have to buy it, you'll be able to play it for free. And there might have been some speculation saying that they did that because every other battle royale is free to play. But Dave Curd, who is the creative director behind the game, sat down with a website called Games Radar, and he explains "We came to a decision to make PUBG free to play because we feel that it's truly the right time. Our game is in a great place with eight maps, an engaged community and our deep (weapon) mechanics. This is the natural step and a great way to introduce more players to the universe. I know that there are a lot of people who are interested in PUBG but have never gotten around to playing it for various reasons. Now is the perfect moment to get started." I have played PUBG. I thought it was decent. It's obviously more fun when you play with friends than it is to play solo, and it really led the way for the current wave of Battle Royale games, so be sure to check it out when you have time.
Nvidia DLDRS Explained
And the last bit of news for today is Nvidia have announced DLDSR technology. DSR technology allows upscaling of game graphics from, say 1080p to 4K, for example, while making it look better and so on. And DLSS allows for better frame rates, that was the idea of DLSS. DLDSR combines both. It will upscale the game while maintaining decent frame rates. The example they gave with the game Prey is that they were able to upscale it from 1080p to 4K and still maintain almost exactly the same frame rate. We will see if this comes to various games. I know that these acronyms can be a mouthful, but it's important to distinguish the technology's being used. DLSS, DSR and they've combined the two to be DLDSR. I hope that makes sense.
Conclusion
That's all for my roundup of the latest gaming news. What do you think? Are any of these stories big deals in your opinion? Let me know by leaving a comment on the video. And don't forget to check back tomorrow for more exciting gaming news!
