The next expansion for FFXIV was announced. The expansion will be called Dawntrail. It will include a level cap increase to 100, new story quests, new areas to explore and also a graphical upgrade for the game. I also received a gift from Square Enix including a t-shirt, a golden Namazu, a lamp and a plushie. Thank you very much to Square Enix. It's slated to come out sometime during Summer 2024. When there's an actual release date for the expansion, I'll be sure to share it on the Gaming News. What's been your favorite expansion of Final Fantasy 14 so far? And the next bit of news for today is there was a lot of announcements from ExileCon yesterday. It was revealed that Path of Exile 2 will no longer be an expansion to the first game, instead will be its own standalone game. The next expansion for the first game will be coming out in Aug 2023, which will include a new end game system called Archnemesis. Also console versions of the game are due to come out in early 2024 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Do you play Path of Exile? And the last bit of news for today is Phil Spencer joined Naoki "Yoshi P" Yoshida and the head of Square Enix to announce the Xbox version of Final Fantasy 14. It will be optimized for Xbox Series X|S and an open beta will happen during Patch 6.5 in Spring 2024. What do you think of Xbox and Square Enix working closer together?
