The Witcher 3's quest director, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, sorry if I mispronounced it, I probably did, has announced that he's joining Riot Games to help them work on their upcoming MMO. Hopefully we'll get more details about that soon because I haven't really looked into it too much. I really should, but Riot Games are behind such massive games like League of Legends and VALORANT. They both follow a very successful free-to-play model. That makes me wonder if they'll do a free to play model for an MMO if they release one. I guess we will see. The next bit of news for today is apparently fans are frustrated with miHoYo, the developer behind Genshin Impact because of their upcoming anniversary event. And the reason they're frustrated is because they feel like miHoYo is asking a lot with submitting fan art, promoting on social media and on, in return for some cheap in-game items or a chance to win other things like an iPad or something. Now miHoYo has done incredibly well because of Genshin Impact like they are raking in, they've probably taken in billions of dollars at this point. They feel, these fans, that the prizes could be bigger. I personally used to play Genshin Impact. I used to play it quite a lot, actually, I really, really enjoyed it, but I stopped playing a few months ago because I felt like the game itself wasn't expanding enough, but there was always a consistent schedule of new items coming to the cash shop, new characters that some players are spending thousands of dollars to fully upgrade, which is in my opinion just ridiculous. I feel like it's an amazing game spoiled by the cash shop. That's why I've now moved away from Genshin Impact. And then the last bit of news for today is YouTube Gaming has added theatre mode to the mobile phone app. Theatre mode means that you have the live stream and the chat on one screen in a nice sort of elegant way. And people are already asking Ryan Wyatt or Fwiz on Twitter who is the head of YouTube Gaming when that feature is going to come to PC to desktop. As someone who is both a YouTuber and a live streamer over on Twitch. Basically, I feel right now YouTube Gaming is trying to catch up to Twitch, but for the long run, I don't think that's a good thing to just copy and paste of the Twitch website. I think YouTube Gaming should try and focus on unique things like what do they bring to the table rather than just trying to copy Twitch, but that's a topic for a separate video.
