Activision Blizzard will not be featured at this years Game Awards other than game nominations, BioShock 4 details emerge detailing the setting and some of the lore, and PlayStation are working on an equivalent to XBox Game Pass code named Sparticus.

BioShock 4 Details

BioShock 4, the highly anticipated next installment in the popular BioShock series, is currently the subject of much speculation and excitement among fans. One of the most intriguing rumors surrounding the game is that it will be set in an Antarctic setting. This cold and desolate environment would provide a stark contrast to the previous games' settings, further immersing players into the unique and atmospheric world of BioShock.

In addition to the setting, it has been speculated that the lore of BioShock 4 will be deeply connected to the previous games, particularly BioShock Infinite. The intricate storytelling and interconnectedness of the BioShock universe has always been a hallmark of the series, and it seems that BioShock 4 will continue this tradition, offering players a rich and immersive narrative experience.

Fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting any news about the release date of BioShock 4. While an official announcement has yet to be made, there are indications that a potential release date for the game could be announced in 2022. This news has only fueled the excitement surrounding the game, as players eagerly anticipate the chance to dive back into the fascinating and thought-provoking world of BioShock.

Many players, myself included, were blown away by the mind-bending experience that was BioShock Infinite. The game not only captivated players with its stunning visuals and gameplay mechanics, but also challenged us with its complex themes and narrative twists. It was a truly unforgettable experience, and one that left players hungry for more.

Given the success and critical acclaim of the previous BioShock games, it comes as no surprise that fans are eagerly anticipating the release of BioShock 4. The series has a dedicated and passionate fan base who have come to expect nothing less than excellence from each installment. The prospect of exploring a new setting and delving deeper into the lore of the BioShock universe is an enticing one indeed.

PlayStation Subscription

Moving on to our next piece of news, it appears that PlayStation is gearing up to compete with Xbox's popular Game Pass subscription service. According to a report from Bloomberg, PlayStation is working on a new subscription service code named "Sparticus." This service aims to combine PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and other services into a single offering that mirrors the value proposition of Xbox Game Pass.

PlayStation Now, Sony's current cloud-based streaming service, allows players to stream a vast library of games directly to their consoles or PC. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus is a subscription service that offers multiplayer capabilities, exclusive discounts, and free monthly games.

If the rumors are true and PlayStation does indeed launch its own game subscription service, it would be a significant step forward for the company. Xbox Game Pass has been widely praised for its value and variety of games, and PlayStation's entry into this space has the potential to reshape the gaming subscription landscape.

However, it is important to note that these are still rumors, and nothing has been officially confirmed by Sony at this time. Fans will have to wait for an official announcement from the company to get a clearer picture of what the Sparticus subscription service might entail and how it will stack up against its competitors.

Activision Blizzard Not At Game Awards

Lastly, in recent news, it has been confirmed that Activision Blizzard will not be participating in this year's Game Awards. Geoff Keighley, the creator and producer of the event, took to Twitter to announce that Activision Blizzard would not be involved.

In his tweet, Keighley emphasized the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment within the gaming industry, stating, "There is no place for abuse, harassment or predatory practices in any company or any community." He further expressed the need for collaboration to build a better future for the industry and to celebrate the talented developers and their incredible games.

The absence of Activision Blizzard at the Game Awards stems from the ongoing issues surrounding the company, including allegations of toxicity, discrimination, and workplace harassment. Keighley's statement suggests that the decision to exclude Activision Blizzard was made in light of these concerns and the need for accountability and change within the industry.

While this news may disappoint some fans who were hoping to see updates or announcements from Activision Blizzard at the Game Awards, it serves as a reminder that the industry as a whole is actively working towards creating a safer and more inclusive space for everyone involved.

The hope is that this absence will prompt Activision Blizzard to address and rectify the issues within their company, fostering a healthier work environment where employees can thrive and create the world's best games without fear or mistreatment.

In conclusion, the future of gaming holds great promise with the anticipation of BioShock 4, the potential launch of PlayStation's subscription service, and the industry's continued efforts to foster a more inclusive and responsible environment. As fans, we eagerly await further updates and announcements, hoping for a bright and exciting future in the world of gaming.
