Introduction

Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of the daily gaming news. Here I'll be discussing all the latest goings-on in the gaming industry, from new releases to game announcements and everything in between. So without further ado, let's get started!

Halo TV Series

A new Halo TV series has been announced and will be coming out and streaming on Paramount+. A trailer for it was released during The Game Awards, so be sure to check it out. With the recent release of Halo Infinite hopefully interest in it will be good.

Splinter Cell Trademark Update

And then the next bit of news for today is Ubisoft have updated their Splinter Cell trademark because apparently the game is going to be returning soon. They updated a line of the trademark, which said "interactive multiplayer computer game" to "providing an online computer game". It suggests that there will be online for the next Splinter Cell. We will see because it's been eight years since the last Splinter Cell game came out, which was Splinter Cell Blacklist. Hopefully, it will come back. I am a big fan of the Splinter Cell series. I remember playing it on the original Xbox. It feels like a really long time ago.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC Backlash

The last bit of news for today is there was backlash about the pricing of Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC on the Epic Games Store. Square Enix initially announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake PC and Forspoken were going to be released at the $70 price point on PC, on Steam and Epic Games Store. The reason for the backlash is because players and gamers don't want the next gen console pricing of games to come to PC. There's been a lot of negative feedback about it and also because in Final Fantasy 7 Remake case, it's a game that came out more than a year ago, so people are not happy about it. In Square Enix's defence the Intergrade version of the game is not just Final Fantasy 7 Remake, it includes the Yuffie DLC, so I would say you're getting bang for your buck as they say. But of course the majority has spoken and in response to the backlash they faced, they have removed the price from the Epic Game Store, which suggests that they might be thinking about it. Hopefully it will come down. The cheaper, the better. It's Christmas.
