Xbox and PlayStation In Game Ads
Apparently PlayStation and Xbox are testing functionality to add ads to free to play games in the shape of, for example, billboards. They will actually be live ads, not just in game random ones. We will see if there's more information about that in the future. And free to play games include games like Apex Legends, Fortnite and so on.
Among Us VR Announced
The next bit of news for today is yesterday there was the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, where they showed off a couple of games coming to the platform, including Among Us VR and Ghostbusters VR. If you're playing VR games, know that more investments are being made in the space and more games are coming.
TERA Shutting Down
And the last bit of news for today is the MMORPG TERA is shutting down. Gameforge who is the publisher posted on the website saying, "Hello TERA players. Unfortunately, we come bearing bad news. TERA developers Bluehole have decided to cease work on TERA. After much consideration, the team in South Korea have come to the conclusion that they are no longer able to offer you the exciting and satisfying content you deserve. As the last remaining publisher of TERA it is with a heavy heart that we must respect Bluehole's decision and we'll also have to shut down the game. The TERA servers will be switched off on the 30 Jun 2022. Until then, we'll be running some permanent events in the hope that you'll at least be able to enjoy these final moments in Arborea. After ten long years, the TERA legend must sadly come to an end. Together we've braved so many of Arborea's perils, fought valiantly against the argons, made many new friends and gone on countless adventures. We would like to thank you for your loyalty, for accompanying us on this loan long journey and for being such an amazing community."
