According to an article on Kotaku, the Embracer Group are planning a lot of new games with the new IPs they've acquired from Square Enix. They said "After the end of the quarter, we have further strengthened our development capabilities and IP portfolio by entering into an agreement to acquire Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Legacy of Kain and other IPs. The announcement got an overwhelming and positive response. We see a great potential not only in sequels but also in remakes, remasters, spinoffs, as well as transmedia projects across the group." Since the acquisition of these IPs from Square Enix, the Embracer group's stock price has increased fairly well, but also Square Enix's has increased fairly well. It does seem overall to be a good deal in the short term for both companies, but in the long term we will see what the ramifications are. And the next bit of news for today is CD Projekt Red tweeted out saying "Let's make this 7th anniversary even better shall we? We're delighted to share that the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is planned for release in the Q4 2022. See you on the Path, witchers." Next Gen release means PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and people have been waiting for a very long time. I recently reported that they brought the development in house so hopefully people will be able to play the Next Gen version sooner than later. The last bit of news for today is the Epic Games Store is going to be doing the Epic Games Mega Sale 2022 until 16 Jun 2022 with offers of up to 75% off for different games on the platform. And also they have released Borderlands 3 for free until 26 May 2022. All you need to do is log in to your Epic Game Store and you can redeem it and add it to your account forever.
