The Nintendo Switch has surpassed more than 139,000,000 units sold worldwide. It is already the top selling console of all time in Japan and is 15 million units away from being the global top seller. So far, the only console that has sold more units is the PlayStation 2. Rankings have been released for the top selling games on the Nintendo Switch as well, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe topping the list at more than 60 million units sold. Do you own a Nintendo Switch? And the next bit of news for today is according to an article on Reuters, Tencent is working on a mobile version of Elden Ring. Tencent, which is the biggest Chinese gaming company and also the biggest gaming company in the world, owns a 16% stake in FromSoftware who are the developer of Elden Ring. The speculation is they would like the game to be free to play with in-app purchases and be modeled after other successful mobile games like Genshin Impact. For now, there isn't any more information about an Elden Ring mobile, but when there is, I'll be sure to report out it on the Gaming News. Would you play a game like Elden Ring if it released on mobile? And the last bit of news for today is according to a leak, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be receiving a playable demo today. Later today, there'll be a PlayStation State of Play focused on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and there is strong speculation that the demo will be announced at the same time. As with all leaks, please take it with a grain of salt, but this one seems more likely given the trailer leak. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to release on the 29 Feb 2024, exclusively on PlayStation 5. Are you looking forward to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
