Steam Deck Aerith CPU, FIFA Games Contract Extension, Elder Scrolls 6 Exclusivity | Gaming News

Steam Deck Aerith CPU

Hello, guys, and welcome to the Gaming News for 16 Nov 2021. More details have emerged about the Steam Deck, the upcoming handheld console that will allow PC gaming coming from Valve. And it includes information about about the chip sets being used. They released a bunch of update streams, which you can watch on YouTube, and they spoke in detail about how, for example, the AMD custom chip that's been made for it has been nicknamed Aerith as in the character from FF7, and that it will have 64 GB of storage initially. But you can expand it with micro SD cards with 256 and 512 GB models. They're NVME SSD, so they're very fast and overall they are going to try and make sure that it's as power efficient as possible with about an eight hour battery life when gaming and longer if it's not gaming, if it's just on and there will be a docked option like with Nintendo Switch and so on. There's a lot of information available now about the Steam Deck, and we'll get our hands on it. Who knows? But we'll see if it's a viable thing to allow PC gaming. And one thing that they were talking about is that when it comes to battery life, it's down to the developers to put, for example, a frame rate cap. If it's no frame rate cap, it will drain the battery very quickly. But if there's a frame rate cap, then maybe there's a chance it will last longer than that.

FIFA Games Contract Extension

And then the next bit of news for today is FIFA have granted a ten year extension to EA for the FIFA games. This actually came out a few days ago, but basically there was other news to talk about. There was speculation at some point that they wanted to double the licensing fee and all this other stuff. And the EA FIFA game wouldn't be allowed to be called FIFA anymore. But it seems like that is now settled. The details of the deal that they struck, I don't know. For the FIFA players and EA, it seems like business as usual for now. We'll see in ten years if it comes up again.

Elder Scrolls 6 Exclusivity

The last bit of news for today is Elder Scrolls 6 will be an Xbox and PC exclusive. That's according to an interview from Phil Spencer in GQ. He was talking about how they do need to protect some of the Xbox properties. It's not just a case of the share everything because generally Phil Spencer is a very nice guy and he's very open to competition from the industry and stuff like that. But in some cases they just have to protect their IP. But I think my personal opinion, my guess is that it will be a timed exclusive. That's my guess that eventually will make its way on the PlayStation, because let's be honest, Skyrim has been rereleased on a billion different consoles over a long period of time, so it's been rereleased on more consoles than even exist. Hopefully, Elder Scrolls 6 will be as well in the future. Anyway, guys, that's it for the Gaming News for today. Thank you so much for all the new followers as always. And I will see you tomorrow. Thanks, guys. Bye bye.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have played hundreds of games in my life and have experienced truly amazing games. As time has passed and games continue to evolve, I want to share my gaming adventures with the world so you can improve your gaming experience too.

There are several gaming franchises I love experiencing a lot such as Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, God of War, Uncharted, Yakuza, Assassin's Creed, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Xenoblade Chronicles and more.

In 1997 when I was 12 years old, a class mate of mine asked me, have you ever played Final Fantasy 7? I was like no, what’s that? He lent me his copy, and I remember on the first night I escaped Midgar after not being able to put it down for 5 to 6 hours even though it was a school night. Shortly after I finished the game and my gaming obsession was truly planted.

Towards the end of 1998 I played Zelda 64 Ocarina of Time. It was a revelation to me, given its combat, story telling, music and satisfying ending. It also gave a hint of what open world could look like given how “huge” Hyrule Field was, which was massive for the time. After nearly 25 years, Zelda 64 Ocarina of Time still sits at the top of my favourite games of all time list.

When I went to University during 2003 to 2007, it was the era of Half Life 2. I remember spending a portion of my student loan so I could get a gaming pc powerful enough to play it.

During that time I also started my adventures in MMOs including Final Fantasy 11 and World of Warcraft. It amazes me that they are still online to this day.

After leaving University, I like most people ended up in the 9 to 5 cycle, after a year of being stuck in the “no job without experience, no experience without a job”. At the time I was still living with my parents and I got distracted on girls for a while. My love for gaming never ended though, with it always being a fall back for me.

In 2013, I started my first YouTube channel, as a way to also document my time in the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn. I had seen some YouTubers who made really good videos. For me, at the time, it was a hobby to do on the evening and weekends, I never went into it thinking one day it would be my job. I would have made videos, even if it made no money at all.

After 10 years of multiple jobs, living a very miserable existence in the 9 to 5 cycle, it all abruptly ended in 2018 with my disability of severe anxiety preventing me from commuting to London to work any more.

During the Pandemic, a lot of people were losing their jobs, and there was a lot more time to produce videos and play games. While growing as a content creator, I noticed my Instagram page had little to no content. One day I picked up my phone and recorded a video talking about gaming as it was my favourite hobby.

As I have now played hundreds of games and my passion has evolved for the last 30 years, I see my love for gaming lasting until the day I die. Games have made me laugh, made me cry, and everything in between. The recent price increases have definitely dampened gaming for most gamers, but I am in a privileged position as an Independent Gaming Journalist to receive a lot of games for free from developers and publishers to review.

I hope I can always bring the highest quality Gaming News every day, in digestible 1 to 1.5 minute summaries, to share the passion I have always had for it.

There is a lot more to my gaming history than what I've written above and if you want to talk to me about it feel free to pop by my Twitch Live Stream sometime and say hello!
