French forum Dealabs have leaked the PlayStation Plus games for Jan 2022, which includes Deep Rock Galactic, Persona 5 Strikers and Dirt 5. And the reason they're becoming an almost reliable source is because they've revealed what turns out to be the right games for the last six months now. We will see in January if this is true. Who knows what their source is? But like I said, if these are the actual games which are coming to PlayStation Plus in January, it'll be a good month.
And then the next bit of news for today is PlayStation have announced the holiday sale, which will go on between now and the 19 Jan 2022 where hundreds of games are going to be discounted on PlayStation Store. On the PlayStation Blog, they revealed a list of what they said is just a few of the biggest games which are on sale. And they said it's just a small fraction of what is actually on sale. And on the 05 Jan 2022, they said even more games are going to be joining the promotion. If there's any game that you've been eyeing for a while, it might be discounted right now, so check the PlayStation Store to see if there's a discount.
And then the last bit of news for today is players were unable to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC yesterday because of Epic Game Store being down. The Epic Game Store tweeted out saying "Internet service outages are currently impacting the Epic Games Store, affecting logins, libraries, purchases, etc. We are monitoring the situation and we will update you when the situation is resolved." And then a few hours later, they said "The issues have been resolved. If you're still experiencing some issues on the Epic Games Store, we recommend closing and relaunching the launcher." And then someone tweeted out saying "Why? Just why? I have the game I paid for the game. Anyone know how to bypass this?". Traditionally, there are a lot of games which seem to be completely offline or single player games which require a login via whichever store you bought them from, whether it's Epic or Steam. And the reason why those systems were implemented is to prevent piracy. Simple as that. You log in, you verify your purchase pretty much every single time you play the game. And it helps the developers feel confident that people who have actually bought the game are playing it. That's the reason why these systems are in place for games which seemingly are completely offline. And when it comes to Epic Games Store going down, that is related to Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services have had issues over the last couple of weeks. It's gone down multiple times, but it's nothing to do with the servers, it's to do with power to their North Virginia Data Center. Just so you know, this is why these things happen.
