Step-by-Step Instructions
The Vanu Vanu are a combat-focused Beast Tribe located in The Sea of Clouds. They are one of the tribes introduced in the Heavensward expansion (Patch 3.1). These quests utilize the "Quest Sync" system, adjusting difficulty and EXP rewards to your current job level.
1. Complete the Main Scenario Prerequisite
Before you can unlock this tribe, you must progress the Heavensward Main Scenario Questline until you complete the Level 57 quest "A Difference of Opinion". This quest occurs during your second visit to The Sea of Clouds.
2. Locate Sonu Vanu
Once the prerequisite is met and you are at least Level 50 on a combat job, head to Ok' Zundu in The Sea of Clouds. Locate the NPC Sonu Vanu at coordinates (X: 11.7, Y: 14.8).
3. Complete "Three Beaks to the Wind"
Accept the quest "Three Beaks to the Wind". This quest will introduce you to the Gundu tribe, who have been displaced by the aggressive Vundu tribe. You will help them establish a new settlement on a nearby island.
4. Begin Daily Quests
Upon completing the introduction, the new Gundu settlement will act as the tribal hub. You can then accept daily quests to earn EXP and reputation. These quests are excellent for leveling combat jobs in the 50-60 range.
Rewards
As you increase your reputation rank with the Vanu Vanu, you will unlock various rewards for purchase with Vanu Whitebones (the tribal currency) or Gil:
- Mount: Sanuwa
- Minion: Wind-up Vanu Vanu
- Emote: Sun Dance (The famous tribal dance!)
- Glamour: Vanu Vanu body suit pieces.
Lore of the Vanu Vanu
The Vanu Vanu are an avian beast tribe native to the Sea of Clouds. They worship the Primal Bismarck, the White Whale. The tribe is split into several factions, with the aggressive Vundu tribe dominating the others. You align yourself with the peaceful Gundu tribe, helping them survive and maintain their unique "Sun Dance" traditions.
