Step-by-Step Instructions

The Namazu are a Beast Tribe focused on Crafting (Disciples of the Hand) and Gathering (Disciples of the Land) introduced in the Stormblood expansion (Patch 4.3). They are located in The Azim Steppe. Important: Unlocking them requires completing two lengthy side quest chains in Yanxia.

1. Complete the Main Scenario

You must complete the Level 64 Main Scenario Quest "In Crimson It Began".

2. Complete the Side Quest Chains

You must complete two separate story arcs in Yanxia. These can be done in any order, but both must be finished.

Chain A: Kurobana's Story

Start NPC: Fukudo (Yanxia X: 30.9, Y: 17.8)

Courage the Cowardly Lupin (Level 64)
Kurobana's Treasure

Chain B: Gyorin's Story

Start NPC: Ochimi (Yanxia X: 30.3, Y: 18.3)

Perchance to Hanami (Level 64)
Gyorin the Gun
Whiskers of the Brave
Flavor of the Month
Gyorin the Great

3. Complete "Kurobana vs. Gyorin"

Once both chains above are finished, the quest "Kurobana vs. Gyorin" will become available from Kurobana (Yanxia X: 29.3, Y: 17.5). Completing this is the final prerequisite.

4. Accept "Something Fishy This Way Comes"

After completing "Kurobana vs. Gyorin," switch to a Level 60+ Crafter or Gatherer class. Head to The Azim Steppe and speak to the **Floundering Namazu** (X: 17.4, Y: 37.5) to begin the tribal unlock quest.
