Locations of All Aether Currents in FFXIV Lakeland
A complete guide to unlocking flying in Lakeland. Includes coordinates, Crystarium quest locations, and maps for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers.Lakeland is the first zone you encounter in Shadowbringers. It features purple forests, the majestic Crystal Tower, and the fortress of the Ostall Imperative.
Since the Endwalker update (Patch 6.0), the number of field currents has been reduced to 4. You will need to find these 4 field currents and complete 5 quests to unlock flying. Be aware that one field current is locked behind the Main Scenario Quest.
Field Aether Current Locations (The "Green Orbs")
Use your Aether Compass (Collection Menu) to verify these locations. Some are located high on walls or castle ramparts.

Essential Tips for Lakeland
- Check the City: If you are missing currents, check your map inside The Crystarium. Quest markers there are easy to overlook when you are focused on the field.
- Northwest Block: The current at (X:5.6, Y:14.3) is often the last one people get because you cannot physically reach that part of the map until you are heading toward the second zone (Il Mheg).
