Location Dravanian Forelands (X: 24.0, Y: 19.7)

Quest Type Combat (Disciple of War/Magic)

Step-by-Step Instructions

The Vath are a combat-focused Beast Tribe located in the Dravanian Forelands. They are one of the tribes introduced in the Heavensward expansion (Patch 3.2).

1. Complete the Main Scenario Prerequisite

Before you can unlock this tribe, you must progress the Heavensward Main Scenario Questline until you complete the Level 53 quest "Lord of the Hive". This quest involves confronting Ravana.

2. Complete the Prequisite Side Quest

After the MSQ is complete, a side quest titled "The Nonmind" will appear at Loth ast Vath (X: 24.0, Y: 19.7). You must complete this short quest first.

3. Complete "The Naming of Vath"

Once "The Nonmind" is turned in, speak to the Vath Storyteller at the same location to accept "The Naming of Vath". This quest formally unlocks the tribe.

4. Begin Daily Quests

Upon completing the introduction, you can accept daily quests from the Vath Stickpeddler. These quests provide EXP and reputation, which are excellent for leveling combat jobs in the 50-60 range.

Rewards

As you increase your reputation rank with the Vath, you will unlock various rewards for purchase with Black Copper Gil (the tribal currency) or Gil:

  • Mount: Kongamato (Flying insect mount)
  • Minion: Wind-up Gnath
  • Emote: /vathsalute (The Gnath/Vath click)
  • Glamour: Gnath Head, Body, Arms, and Legs.

Lore of the Vath

The Vath are a splinter group of the Gnath, an insectoid race connected by a hive mind known as "The Onemind." The Vath have been severed from this connection, becoming "The Nonmind." They seek to forge their own individual identities and survive independently from the main colony.
