Step-by-Step Instructions

The Amalj'aa are a combat-focused Beast Tribe located in the deserts of Thanalan. They are one of the original tribes introduced in A Realm Reborn.

1. Complete the Main Scenario Prerequisite

Before you can unlock this tribe, you must progress the Main Scenario Questline (MSQ) until you complete the Level 41 quest "In Pursuit of the Past". This quest deals with the events at the Stone Vigil.

2. Locate Swift in Ul'dah

Once the prerequisite is met and you are at least Level 43 on a combat job, head to Ul'dah - Steps of Nald. Locate the NPC Swift at the Immortal Flames Grand Company Hall (X: 8.4, Y: 8.9).

3. Complete "Peace for Thanalan"

Accept the quest "Peace for Thanalan". This quest will direct you to the Ring of Ash in Southern Thanalan (X: 23, Y: 14), which serves as the main hub for the Amalj'aa faction.

4. Begin Daily Quests

Upon arriving at the Ring of Ash and completing the introduction, you will unlock the ability to perform daily tribal quests. These quests provide EXP for combat jobs and reputation points.

As you increase your reputation rank with the Amalj'aa, you will unlock various rewards for purchase with Steel Amalj'ok (the tribal currency) or Gil:

Mount: Cavalry Drake
Minion: Wind-up Amalj'aa

Lore of the Amalj'aa

The Amalj'aa are a race of nomadic beastmen who inhabit the Paglth'an region and the deserts of Thanalan. They revere the Primal Ifrit, the Lord of the Inferno. Known for their physical strength and martial prowess, they value power above all else. While many are hostile to the city-state of Ul'dah, the Brotherhood of Ash—the faction you align with—seeks a different path, focusing on honor and strength without tempering souls to Ifrit.
